Undefeated teams clash in championship

 

 
 

 
The Saskatoon Valkyries are about to figure out how the west is won.
On Saturday afternoon, the Valkyries will play the veteran-laden Edmonton Storm in the first-ever Women's Western Canadian Football League championship final at Lethbridge, Alta..

It's a clash of two undefeated squads, both of which finished the regular season with a perfect 4-0 record.

"It's a great way to finish the year," said Valkyries head coach Jeff Yausie.

Saskatoon is coming off a 36-6 victory over the Regina Riot in the Prairie Conference final. Meanwhile, Edmonton edged the Calgary Rage 13-9 to take the Western Conference final.

Yausie expects the Storm to be the biggest test thus far for the Saskatoon squad. The Valkyries got an unofficial sneak-peak of the Storm in during the pre-season jamboree in Saskatoon.  Read full story...
