Valkyries in the news

Saskatoon Valkyries blow out Manitoba 55-0 in WWCFL season opener

The Saskatoon Valkyries dominated the Manitoba Fearless in their home opener at Griffiths Stadium on Sunday with a 55-0 win.
Valkyries head coach Jeff Yausie said the match-up was important as a chance for the team’s more than 20 new recruits to get their first taste of the Western Women’s Canadian Football League.
“We have a whole lot of new players, so for me it’s exciting to see them experience the game and see how they executed,” Yausie said.
Despite the strong start to the season that could see the Valkyries take home their fourth WWCFL championship, he’s not letting the win go to their heads.
“With so many new players, you’ve just got to focus on yourselves and get better each week,” he said.
