FUN BUT FOCUSED

Updated: May 5, 2018

Chris Hengen-Braun knows football. The Director of Business Development at Freedom 55 Financial played for 5 years with the Hilltops before switching to coaching at Aden Bowman. He has been part of the Valkyries coaching staff since the team's inaugural season and has even coached the women's Canadian National team twice now.

Known to players as "HB", Hengen-Braun is known to fire up the troops in the locker rooms before games, and isn't afraid to single out people during game film. He never shies away from a teaching moment, but always manages to do so in a funny, yet honest way, which keeps team morale high. You can be sure that HB will be the first to tell you that you made a mistake, but he will also make sure that you know how to fix it.

Receiver Coach, Caleb Dueck brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as well. Having played highschool football at Tommy Douglas Collegiate, some time with Hilltops, Dueck is currently in his 7th year coaching the Tommy Douglas senior football team, and "had the pleasure of coaching the U18 Academy program this summer." Dueck is passionate about the sport and about seeing growth within the province, particularly among females. " I love the sport of football, and this provides me

another opportunity to help teach and grow the sport in the community. It’s great to see so many passionate players in this league, which has inspired younger female athletes in kinsman and high school."

We are grateful for the fun-natured way that these coaches lead the team, and the experience that they share with us at every practice! #ThanksCoach #HeartofaValkyrie
